An Old Companion
Headphones
This is based on my CDR-King Headphones. If you didn't know, it's a rather cheap and somewhat embarrassing brand so I covered the brand label with tape.
The headphones lasted me 3 years before it snapped. It still works, but I had to wrap it in bandage for it to be usable. Having the actual reference in hand, it was quite easy to model.

Help From Photoshop
Snowglobe
Photoshop is my entry for creating graphics. In fact, I use it way more often than Blender. I would include my works in Photoshop here if I didn't use it for daily use or in conjunction with Blender and Unity.

I wanted to do something glowy and since it was the holiday season back then, I decided to make a glowy snowglobe.
The result was pretty good, so I decided to use Photoshop to add in "Merry Christmas" and adjust the colors so that it would be more dimmer to emphasize the light.

Returning to my Roots
Odachi
One of the first pieces that I was proud of is a model of a sword from a video game. I lost the file for that so I started creating different swords since they were rather easy to make. I knew I had to learn to make other things so I stopped making swords for a while.

After I started learning how materials work, I knew that I just had to make a sword with the new found knowledge. This is result of one of my practice sessions where I simply had too much time in my hands.

Combining Concepts
Brewed Home
This piece is a lot of fun to do. I looked up what a modern home looks like and combined what I saw.

I also made it so that it would look like a casual home where a rich dude would live by making a lot of glass walls. Admittedly, there's not much here which makes the house unique.

My Personal Atelier
Mi Casa - Bedroom
This is where the magic happens.
Almost everything I made (including this website) in the past year are made here in the exact position the laptop is placed.

The room is really snug. There are a lot of details not seen here. Directly behind the camera, is a suspended shelf where all of my clothes are placed. There's a divider on the right which divides the boy's room and the girl's room.

Details behind Curtains
Mi Casa - Storage Room
Second part of the house is the storage room found beyond the stairs.

There's not much here. Just a couple of boxes and cabinets. The hard part is that there are way more random objects here than what is seen here. There are also curtains covering up the cabinets. There also has most so much random things blocking out what the actual room looks like.

Furnishing and Measurements
Mi Casa - First Floor
The best way to find a subject to model is to look around where you are. This lead me to model the house where I live in. I took lots of reference images and measured the first floor based on the number of tiles it has.

The first floor has the most amount furniture in any room in the house. I used the tiles to know the size and placement of the objects. Once measurements are made and applied to the objects in the first floor, all of the other objects I made in other rooms are easily sized by using previously made objects as referrence

Cheating My Way Out of Doing Work
Glass on a Table
3D modelling is a lot of work that's why a certain professional said that 3D modelling is just finding ways to not do as much work as possible.

By emulating an actual camera, I focused on the glass on the table, blurring out other objects on the scene which allowed me to not add as much details to them. The background is just an image of a forest and the table doesn't have legs.

Practice Taken Too Far
Blender Logo in a Blender
School breaks were so long and boring sometimes that I just have to get productive in some of them.

One of the most common way I practice is to model a blender in Blender. I had three or four practice runs and decided to actually go all in and added details I haven't tried before.

Painting Patterns
Holy Sword
Based on the Arthurian Legend, this is my envisioning of Excalibur, the sword in the pedestal which chooses the king.
I took this chance to practice painting patterns on 3D models. I also added glow on the sword to make it more of a holy relic.
